It seems as if some spirit has infested Allen's eye, perhaps Mana's soul passed into Allen's eye when he destroyed the Akuma.

And I'm speculating in the latest manga chapters the black shadow Allen sees in the reflected glass and mirrors after his first encounter with it in "14th's secret room" aka the Ark's piano room, is Mana's spirit. I guess he is able to see the shadow becos of his cursed left eye. Though I won't want a dead spirit following me wherever I go. That's scary

Yes he says "Hello Mana" when his eye forms again... the eys is near the brain and he seems to have a weird connection to the Akuma...it adds up.
