Ugh, I don't get why, the minute something gets licensed, people start whining about the dubs. If you don't like them, don't watch them, it's that simple. Dual audio DVDs exist for a reason...

That being said, I'm glad it's not getting licensed yet, since I don't have that much money to buy DVDs...and even if I did, I probably wouldn't anyways...^^;

in my opinion, the english dubs for animes are terrible compared to original jap ... they cant "act" as well = 3=

The VA for Quatre in Gundam Wing did the voicing for Light Yagami in Death Note!? O_O I knew Light's voice sounded eerie familiar but I kept thinking the dude that is Rey Za Burrel's VA was the VA for Light. I was wrong apparently.

As much as Yuri Lowenthal is a great VA, I just don't see him being the VA for Kanda. Although the chances of Yuri being the VA for Kanda will be really high when it's liscenced that is.

and as for the earls voice, yeah, only way he would sound ok in the dub is to teach his japanese va english and making him do it again!
and yuri lowenthal is great playing the bastard character. He did alviss, he did sasuke, why not add kanda to his list? he just has to make his voice sound a bit older then he usually does for the jerks.

Sony Music Records owns the song, not the anime, guys. Calm down.

@ Chairz - I was just about to type down the exact same thing @_@ My friend had her account banned cuz Sony spazzed out over her amv (that had a disclaimer).

Most dubs usually reek, but i don't think Inuyasha or FMA was done too badly. One would argue its pretty good. I beg, that FUNimation would be fast enough before DGM is sucked into the dark, hideous whirlpools that are >> 4Kids and Viz. Honestly. Imo, Viz is the worst of the two. In Pokemon (4kids), even they censor things like mad....at least the voice actors can act to some extent. Bleach and Naruto were utter failures, imo.

^I doubt 4kids would grab the anime. Too much violence and too much religious things going around it. 4kids would dub it dry till there isn't anything left to censor. I personally hate 4kids, if they get it, heads will roll.

I'm also hoping Funimation grabs D.Gray-Man, they are doing such a fantastic job with One Piece (At least I hoped they are dubbing One Piece...), FMA, and any other anime they did before that. I want some voice actors that actually fit the characters.

If any anime company can do it right, it shall be Funimation! If Funimation grabs D.Gray-Man in the future, I shall hope they will do a splendid job. And I'm also hoping D.Gray-Man makes a televison debute on Adult Swim! :3 Yeah, I can dream.

They change the names for no reason. A dude named Horohoro was called Trey Racer, and Ren was changed to Len. Ryu became Rio and Manta became Morty. And Hao became Zeke.
Why did they do this?
We don't know.
Imagine... they change Kanda's name. And Komui's. And Linali's.
Since Lavi's Hebrew, they'd probably change his too.
But this is only if 4Kids gets it.
They hate all things foreign... Every single little thing that might hint at an outside world beyond America.

I hope they do a great dub! I have faith *hopes* it seems to me that any anime thats with cartoon network has either okay or really crappy dubbing. Usually though Adult Swims anime get's better dubbing...like FMA was a great dubbing! Well whatever hope they get good people!

Thank heavens to funimation!!........Our pleas for the better dubbing group has been answered...Gosh, 4kids often censors the lousy ballooney out of series. In Pokemon, riceball = donut @_@;; Now, all we have to hope for are....the voices sounding and fitting well...along with the voice actor's ability in acting @_@

From my (limited) experience....It'll probably be released on the September of 2009.

EDIT : I mean, its unlikely that YTV or Cartoon Network would get it in the middle of the year. Its easier to advertise new shows in the beginning of the school year.

i read that its gonna be released in spring next year. For me, thats septemeber, but i don't know about when spring is in america. i think its somewhere around june, isnt it?

and by the way...They only bought the first 51 episodes. does that mean they wont dub anymore after that? i hope not, cos thats when the plot makes a big jump!

That's how it is sometimes. If the manga or anime isn't that well known (And I don't think DGM is), or if it's brand new (also DGM), they only buy a certain amount of episodes, so they don't waste money on an anime that won't fly.
They probably didn't do this with Yu-Gi-Oh! or Naruto. Those are such hits in Japan...

Well i certainly will be dissapointed...Not sure but i imagine most of the members here are much younger than i am. My son got me into some of these Dark animes a few yrs ago..My wife thinks i am nuts... B.t.w my son is 24....This is one hell of a series! I prefer the subs as they are! The japanese anime is amazing stuff. theres my two cents worth!

Well, the main thing they've dubbed is Fullmetal Alchemist. That's the only thing I've seen, I think. And they're currently dubbing One Piece. That's why Hikaru E is the theme song, with Vic singing! =D

I can't wait for the dub, as long as it's FUNimation doing the dub, because they're actually good at dubbing, unlike 4kids. Well I read on wikipedia or something, that the dubs comming out in the begining of 2009, correct me if I'm wrong though....that's not too long from now! I CAN'T WAIT!!!
